Renting a trailer is just smart!

TRAILER2GO

Renting a trailer is quick and easy—as long as getting there is just as simple. For trailer2go’s new rental portal, we focused on the needs of everyone involved: from prospective customers to renters to rental companies. The result is a design concept that provides clear guidance and concisely explains the various processes. This makes it easy to quickly find the right trailer model for the desired application.

UX: Identify and organize needs; define the user journey

We started with a joint brainstorming session to align future requirements and content; the main objective was to produce more SEO-relevant content to improve our search rankings.

As the foundation of our concept, we defined a new sitemap as the structural basis for the designs. Wireframes brought the key use cases to life and mapped out the user journey, from selecting a trailer to making a booking.

And so, step by step, those initial ideas evolved into a cohesive user experience.

A portal that appeals to every target audience.

In UX design, we look at the portal from the perspective of its various user groups:

Who uses it, in what situations and for what purpose?

From this, we identify the key tasks and requirements and design clear processes tailored to each role. A consistent, intuitive design ensures that all user groups can find their way around quickly.

.

The trailer2go website offers features to suit everyone:

  • Hire customers can manage their booked trailers there and arrange collection and return online 24/7 using digital locks.

  • Rental companies organise their fleet, customer database, bookings and invoices, and manage upcoming rentals at a glance.

  • Interested parties can find useful information about trailers and stations in their area.

  • Potential partners can discover the benefits and, once registered, book the appropriate software package.

In this way, trailer2go is building a constantly growing network of hire trailers.

To ensure that trailer2go looks great on any screen, we have carefully considered and clearly defined its responsive behaviour across different formats. As a result, the design, content and user guidance work together seamlessly, making the hire portal a place where finding the right trailer is as straightforward as possible.

A design framework for consistent experiences

For the website, we have developed a modular design framework that ranges from the colour palette and icon library to the interactive behaviour of the control elements. This creates a consistent look and feel across all pages, which can be flexibly expanded and offers users clear navigation.
